We have a little trouble defining ourselves.
We're perhaps a webzine (web + magazine) at the core, but like to also think we're a whole lot more than just an online flip-through. We are the very definition of our features - get to know us through what we offer. We're your confidant (front-page blog editorials added every day); your weekend dream-catcher (party galleries); your best friend (AskMatsume); your well-trodden chaperon (venue listings); your cupid (dating); your your office-distraction and gossip queen (forum); your compass (taxi-printout) your city-roaming voyeur (videos); your pathway (interactive map); your home-finder (housing); your stereo (music channel)... and your Qmunity (Q5 card).

Unlike a magazine, we update constantly on a day-to-day with the click of a button - the last word on everything in Shanghai and the first with the latest informatiom - and so are the first (and often the only) media to catch the blossoming of that last-minute event (or that last-minute cancellation). We're the answer to the question that passes everyone's lips all too often "What's ON today?" We're always available - anywhere there's a net connection - well, there we are. And at the risk of tooting our own horn, we're completely self-made.

From humble beginnings in 2003, we're a little more confident these days and yet always open to suggestions, criticism, and of course... fan mail! We're self-evolving and often 'off with the fairies' pondering new ideas so that we can continue to be the best we can be. As is sadly often the case though, the follow though requires a bit more sweat and arse-in-chair time. Just try and remember we're an office team of five, and that everything you see on the site is created and managed by us.

We'd love to see you on us.
There are now a whole load of ways to advertise on SmartShanghai.com, including promotional listings, banners and boxes, advertorials, newsletter banners, wallpapers, picture galleries and more.
