Digitalism: Mixtape
By Nick Taylor, Sep 27th, 2012 | In Nightlife

Digitalism play this weekend at Ibiza. Should be good. We had sold out of tickets but we've just got a few more in. Find them here for 100rmb presale, or it's 150rmb Saturday night on the door. Digitalism have given us a list of their favorite tracks of all time in the run up to the show. You know, so you can get an idea of how they roll. Over to you, Digitalism.

Last Ninja 2 C64 OST -- Central Park
"It's actually not a real track, but you can find it on the Commodore C64 game Last Ninja 2 (or YouTube nowadays). This was one of the best computer game OSTs ever. Real 8-bit electro rock music from the ’80s, genius."
Daft Punk -- Rollin' & Scratchin'
"One of the best techno tracks ever, no doubt."
Felix Da Housecat & Miss Kittin -- Silver Screen Shower Scene (Thin White Duke Remix)
"Probably still Stewart Price's best work until today. It's a soundtracky electronic ride that sounds so epic that actually only this one should be in this top 5 list."
Thomas Bangalter & DJ Falcon -- Together
"We work a lot with loops in our studio, which we add up and make into full-length tracks in further steps. Together is a prototype of loops, it goes on for six minutes and is basically just one loop, it feels like it's the closing song of a movie and the needle on the record just keeps on skipping back like an endless thing. Simplicity is power and this was a huge record, in our record store where we met and in the clubs."
The Strokes -- Reptilia
"Tight. We love riffs, whether they're electronic or guitars. We actually grew up listening to old U2 records. Reptilia has these nasty chords in it, and the song just builds up more and more towards the end, it's fascinating."

And here’s a top three favorite Digitalism tracks from DJ R3, Mr STD, who is putting on this weekend’s show.
Pogo
"My first encounter with Digitalism was in Tower Records in Shibuya, Tokyo. It was 2007 and there was a CD listening stand with a stack of new releases including a Kitsune Compilation, Justice and Digitalism. I went there to check out Justice... and I ended playing the Digitalism album on repeat. I'd be playing this song almost every time I DJ'd at LOgO for the next 3 months. If I had to choose a soundtrack for 2007 in LOgO...it'd be this song. Sigh."
Blitz
"I remember playing this track when I spotted an old lady in pyjamas on the dance floor holding a hammer. She lumbered up to the DJ booth screaming at me whilst hammering the fuck out of the DJ mixer. I promptly moved my computer away from her and looked around the room to see if anyone else saw it. Classic."
Home Zone
"Don't really have anything to say about this other than it makes you feel boss."
