Oh my, that hair. A league all of its own, that fro', like a Mohawk I wish I could pull off (and know that I really shouldn't ever try). When first cathing wind that Macy Gray will be due in Shanghai September 23rd, I closed my eyes, leaned back and envisioned a full-blown concert, with attendance of course in the thousands. And just a general "hurrah!" that I now knew about the next music icon to come along post-Black Eyed Peas. But alas, rather than a concert.. It appears Ms. Gray will be performing all but a few songs. Says the China West man himself Robb Spitzer "It's cool to see an international artist like Macy Gray performing in Shanghai and appearing alongside Chinese artists in an event that will be seen around the world". Is it close-minded of me to want to see Macy flying solo? Or need I also embrace the pulp in the juice and the idea of an mixed entertainment, rather than filtered down to the good stuff? Because actually I like pulp, but do I like hurdles and Chinese pop stars?
