Fewer names ring out in the world of hip hop as do Lil' Nutz and Monk Dogg. Their meteoric rise from gang banging and husslin' crack, cocaine, heroin, and meth-amphetamine on the streets of Atlanta to the top of the game is the stuff of legend, and their seminal chart toppers "Ryde Heavy, Ryde Deep", "Bling D'oubt", and "Bitches on Dez Nutz" have redefined rap music as you've come to know it today.

This Friday, The Shelter "gone get lit the fug up" as Lil' Nutz and Monk Dogg, along with J 'Playa' Soul, Blaise 'Yo where's my money bitch!' Deville, Dan Elnizzle and Monster Bling Fortune drop classic bootie busters and club thumpers all night long.

So head on down because it's Friday bitch, and you ain't got sheeyat to do...

SmartShanghai caught up with Lil' Nutz and Monk Dogg to talk about the game and keeping it real. What what!

SmSh: You've long since traded in your guns for gold albums. Do you miss the thug life?

Lil' Nutz: Yeah, man fo' sho.

Monk Dogg: Hell yeah! I miss them days growin' up in the hood 'n havin' to pack heat everyday, but -- you know -- we lost a lot of brothers to them streets man, it was hard.

Now we just ballin'. Plain ballin'!

SmSh: Is it hard to keep in real in the '08?

Lil' Nutz: It's damn hard man, people are talking shit about bling, fo sho we're gonna fight for our bling rights!

Monk Dogg: ¨C Yeah man, we got these Lab bitches always dissin' us and tryin' to promote "real hip hop" 'n shit. Fuck dat. Fuck those fools.

It's all about money and ho's, you heard!

SmSh: What is the first thing you bought when you made your first million?

Monk Dogg: My diamond studded cock ring! The ladies love that shit!

Lil' Nutz: My solid gold contact lenses.

SmSh: What's the last thing you bought?

Lil' Nutz: Diamond laces for my silver high cut kicks.

Monk Dogg: A pair of platinum coated turntables, they gonna set the dancefloor on FIYA!

SmSh: Critics of mainstream hip hop today characterize the genre as overly commercial. How would you respond to the haterz?

Lil' Nutz: That's just fuckin' bullshit! That's the way hip hop should be -- everyone should bling that shit out!

Monk Dogg: Man, the world is all about money. C.R.E.A.M. That's what we are here for. Money... and bitches... and more money...

SmSh: "Cause Jigga I don't like it if it don't bling bling, and to hell with the price 'cause the money 'aint a thing." Comments?

Lil' Nutz: Jay speaks da truf!

Monk Dogg: Jigga man is the don, he knows where its at! If it ain't bling it ain't shit!

SmSh: In the past critics have labelled you guy misogynist, especially for the following songs "Bitches on Dez Nut," "Bitches Gotta Have It", and "Bitches Be Shoppin".

How do you respond to the accusation of misogyny?

Monk Dogg: I don't speak no foreign languages so I don't know what misogobblebollocks means, but whatever it is we 'aint dat.

Anyways, bitches ARE always on my nut, Bitches DO gotta have it and bitches definitely be shopping! I only speak da truth yo!

Lil' Nutz: Bitches are bitches, listen up ya'll, you are all bitches!

SmSh: Let's talk about the art. Who were the rappers that made you want to get in the game?

Lil' Nutz: G-Unit!

Monk Dogg Yeah, G-Unit are tha bomb, fo sho, but I gotta give some love to some of my homies from back home: MC Thugger B, Big Daddy Fucker Knuckles, Lil' What-What?! and DJ XXXXXXL!!

SmSh: Who should the peeps look out for in the game today? And who should just give it up completely?

Lil' Nutz: Yeah for sure, Young Jiggy Wiggy is the shit man!

And everything the fuckin' Shelter does is wack!

Monk Dogg: Peeps should be looking right here at us! Someone needs to put these Lab fools out of there misery and let them know that we are where its at! We gonna show The Shelter some real shit!

SmSh: Any advice for the young'uns just coming up?

Lil' Nutz Keep blingin' ya'll!

Monk Dogg: Keep it real, keep it right, do what you love!

SmSh: What can people expect from your sets on Friday?

Lil' Nutz Some serious blinged out dope-ass shit. You bitches won't know what hit you!

Monk Dogg: I'm gonna be playing the hottest shit you ain't even heard yet and some gangsta classics. I also got some of them smooth jams for the ladies to get freaky to.
