Antidote Electronic Festival Primer

This Saturday is the "Antidote Electronic Music Festival" in Zhujiajiao. It's a day-time shaker, running from 1pm to 8pm, featuring all sorts of different live and DJ acts. Here is the logistical information you need to get down there, some information on the acts, some MP3s, and other assorted tid-bits.

Location:
Wang Chang Memorial Courtyard in Zhujiajiao
Zhujiajiao is a water village on the western outskirts of Shanghai. With a population of 60,000, it's a definitely a shift in pace and atmosphere from Shanghai -- think stone bridges over small rivers and ancient Chinese architecture along the water bank. (read: think Mission Impossible III.)
The festival takes place in an open-air courtyard called the Wang Chang Memorial Courtyard at 24 Xihu Lu.
Tickets:
Pre-sale tickets: 60rmb
Where to get them: ENO store, The Shelter, and from random dudes hanging out at the Ratatat concert -- available until Friday evening.
Tickets at the door: 80rmb
One-way bus tickets to and from the festival departing/arriving at The Shelter: 20rmb

Getting there:
There are two ways to get there: bus and taxi. The ride is about an hour on each.
Buses: Three hired buses are departing from The Shelter and arriving at the festival. They leave at 11am, noon, and 1pm. It's first come first serve, so take that into account when planning on getting one of them -- they leave when they fill up so if you want on a specific bus, make sure you come earlier to get a seat.
Buses are leaving the festival to come back to The Shelter at 8pm, 8:30pm, and 9pm. Again, tickets for these buses are 20rmb for one way -- 40rmb if you go there and back by hired bus.
Taxi: A taxi from downtown Shanghai to Zhujiajiao should cost about 160rmb, including a 20rmb road toll fee. You'll be travelling out past the Hongqiao airport and beyond. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Here's the Chinese address for the taxi:
Also, you can print this out and take it with you if you need to:

Note on taking a taxi: If you take a taxi it should drop you off in a parking lot in front of the town. Taxi's can't actually drive right in there and drop you off, so you have to get out and walk through the town to get to the courtyard. Just walk around looking dazed and asking people "where the funk is at" and you should figure it out. It's like a 10 minute walk. Follow the tweakers.
Weather:
According to the BBC (they give you the weather in an assuring British accent), Saturday it's sunny with a max of 27 C (81 F).
Booze and Food:
Booze is cheap, coming to you from an indoor bar adjacent to the courtyard. You can buy booze in there and you walk around with it, but don't be a dick and smash bottles on the grass or anything. Vedett Beer is the sponsor, so expect that to be on hand, along with the standards at the bar (wine, paper cup mixes, etc.).
Food is coming from two sources: a BBQ on the courtyard grounds, and also in the neighbouring restaurants and cafes in the area. If you want a break from the music, grab one of the organizers and ask where a good, cheap restaurant in the area is. Go there, eat, come back.

(Tentative) Line-up:
Here's the lineup of acts, subject to change on the days running up to the show. ZIGZAG, coming in from Beijing, are the headliners. Click on any of those names to be redirected to their presences on the web.
1pm-1:30 - Dostav [DJ]
1:30-2 - Ben Houge [Live]
2-2:30 - Ben Huang [DJ]
2:30-3 - LON [Live]
3-3:30 - Ssoso [DJ]
3:30-3:50 - Resist Resist [Live]
3:50-4:20 - Trix [DJ]
4:20-5 - Reptile & Retard [Live]
5-5:40 - Uprooted Sunshine [DJ / Live]
5:40-6 - SAL [DJ]
6-6:30 - Bananas Soundsystem [DJ]
6:30-7:20 - B6 [DJ-Live]
7:20-8 - ZIGZAG [Live]

Highlights/Downloads:
Here are some highlights and new downloads from the line-up. Although it's an "electronic music" festival, the acts encompass a wide range of styles outside electronica proper -- i.e. the reggae, dub loveliness of Uprooted Sunshine -- so it's best to go with an "everyone love everyone, it's all good" kind of attitude.
ZIGZAG
ZIGZAG are a hot disco, dance rock, electro duo from Beijing. Formed back in 2004, they emerged on the Beijing soundscape with a glitchy remix of Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Stronger". They also do things like remix Queen Sea Big Shark songs and stuff. Expect dance, dance, dance. Should be interesting to hear them do that Daft Punk song because I heard Daft Punk is secretly playing this show.
Here's an MP3 of theirs (right click, "save link as..."):
ZIGZAG - Mad Train
LON
The other new MP3 we have for download is from locally-based DJ/producer LON, who plays at the odd Antidote and S.T.D parties, among other things. The MP3 we have for download is from one of his live sets. Explicit. Get bummed.
LON - Lots of Nothing

A few of the acts on the bill have been featured in previous MP3 Monday, wherein ye shall find more MP3s for your Ipods, real or fake. Click on the names to be redirected to those articles: B6; Reptile & Retard; Uprooted Sunshine; Trix; Ben Houge.

Odds and Ends:
Merch tables: In the festival courtyard, there's going to be some stands selling t-shirts, music CDs, local fashion, and - new eco-friendly consumer products. Bring some extra cash if you want to get some commemorative swag.
After-party: The buses will be taking people back to The Shelter, which is highly convenient because that's where the after-party for the festival is. When you're sick of all that grass, sunshine, and (gah) "fresh air", descend to The Shelter with DJs, Mundros [UK], ZIGZAG [DJ set], Trix, B6, Drunk Monk, Ozone, Shreddi. Cover for that is 30rmb. Gets underway at 10pm.
