Jazz du Funk

Jazz du Funk is the first and only international dance studio in Shanghai, and in a short time since its creation there is a lot on offer. Currently Jazz du Funk runs about 40 classes each week from their 2 dance studios near to the . There are 30 dancers about 20 of who also teach. The dancers represent up to 15 nationalities. Between them there are around 10 dance styles on offer with two more on the way in January.

Here you can learn to dance Ballet, Jazz, Flamenco, Tap, Salsa, Street Jazz, Samba, Belly, Latin Jazz, Hip-hop. Coming in January are the new classes Capoeira and Breakdance. This collection of dancers and dance styles has grown rapidly since Jazz du Funk's creation in 2003. At that time Lian Du, the founder and general manager, began dance classes with Ursula Hemard the marketing manager. There were just 2 classes per week that embodied both Lian's and Ursula's passion for dance and their desire to pass on the artistic flair to the evolving, modern Shanghai. In the absence of another school of this type in Shanghai this was also the opportunity that they were looking for to help promote talented dancers struggling for recognition and creating a melting pot for dance lovers from everywhere.
