Olaf Hessing is one of the "Big Daddies" (a.k.a. founder & owner) of Urban Blast Ltd, "a newly established funky non-conventional boutique Marketing-Events-Design Consultancy." He's also one of the creators of the Face2Face event to be launched at Attica soon.
After a week of mayhem in the office I'm looking forward to kick of my Friday at
Blue Frog-Tongren Lu for some well deserved G&T's and nachos before heading over to
Le Royal Meridien for Kim Xu's art inspired fashion show and cocktail reception. After working with him at
Park 97 for an art exhibition I am very curious so see his creations grace the catwalk. After showing my support and fulfilling the oh-so-necessary Shanghai PR obligations, I'm off for a pit stop at
Sugar to start the evening. If time allows (and I can still afford the cab fare) I will make my way to Attica to say check out
MOS' Marc Hughes and see my friend Martina. Since Urban Blast is the official promoter of this edition of
Maotronic, ill be saving the best for last and take the circus to
MAO to blow off the roof while Milano's one and only Diva ¨C DJ Maria Aminta will serve up an eclectic mix of Italian / Spanish underground disco! Could my Friday get any better?
After cabbing my way through Shanghai's nightlife on Friday, I'm hoping that Saturday will be different. However one never knows. Most of my Saturdays start with nothing planned and before I know it I either get a dinner invitation or an invite to a party or opening. Actually that is my definition of a great Saturday. Wake up whenever I wanna wake up and roll out of bed for brunch at
Viva/Azul. Then again, I'm not the most reliable person when it comes to brunch (have canceled many in the almost 5 years I have been living here) but if I do show up my friends are always pleasantly surprised. After brunch I either retire home for a date with my DVD player or wonder around the city and do some shopping along the way. Didn't I just say that I was hoping my Saturday to be different, but as we speak just got two invites... I guess I will be spending my Saturday night at the Bund. Meet up at
Glamour for some drinky drinks and than head over to the
Vault bar, as Murielle guaranteed me, to "unlock the door of indulgence." Sounds kinda kinky! After all my desires are satisfied (not my words, just quoting the
flyer) I¡¯m heading off to Park 97's
Smirnoff Moscow Party to see my Park family, have a bit of a boogie and have a few more drinks... what can I say, I'm a sucker for a good party.
Being not the most religious person, I do believe in one thing... Sundays are a day or rest or should I say hibernation. Sundays for me equal a combination of hangover recovery + not taking calls that don't show the caller ID + feeding my fish + DVD's + ordering in twice + MSN + AXN's CSI Supreme Sunday + calling mom & sis + a bit of work (not necessarily in that order hehehe).
Hope your weekend will be as good as mine!
