CD Giveaway: In Vogue Collections

This week's CD Giveaway -- the latest release from "In Vogue Collections" -- occupies the more mature end of the electronica spectrum, and serves up downtempo, jazz-influenced electronic tracks and mixes. The press release pegs this compilation at a murky "border between coldness and hotness" and at "the convergence of restraint and looseness." Wherever that may be. Said press release goes on to state that "these songs make us relax our resistance gradually and dance unlimitedly while we are thrilled by the cold and energetic coolness emitted from the strong beats!"

"Relaxing your resistance" until you "dance unlimitedly." Alright. The album is genre-themed two-disc affair, and disc one offers something called "stylish electronica" with tracks by Roebeck feat. Nexus, Husky Rescue, Atlantean feat. Lisa Hannigan, Shawn Lee & Nino Moschella. Disc two features (nu) house mixes by Marcus Enochsson, Dennis Ferrer, SoulSurvivors, Richard Earnshaw and Joey Negro.

Anyways, when you throw it on (Is that someone covering Nina Simone?) it quickly becomes apparent that this compilation is for people with really nice apartments and sweet haircuts. Are you paying an ungodly amount in rent? Inviting people over for homemade tapas and wine this weekend? Want a new CD?
