TAS was founded in 2013 with only five students. As the number of students began to increase many new staff were added to the TAS family. In 2014-2015 the school moved to its present location, a spacious campus in a developing area of the Pudong New District. Shanghai Wenlai International School is a core school of Qibao Middle School Education Group, which was founded by Qibao Middle School and operated by the private sector.
