Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School launches its flagship Shanghai show. This is a three-hour life drawing party with a burlesque twist. Attendees draw performers, compete in contests and win prizes while sharpening their skills and supporting the greater creative community. Presale tickets are 140rmb and include a free drink. 200rmb at the door. Doors open at 6pm. The event begins at 6.30pm sharp. Space is extremely limited, and attendees are expected to bring their own sketchbooks and drawing materials. Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School is the New York art event that became a movement. Started in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, it now has over 100 branches around the globe, including Los Angeles, London, Rome, Tokyo, and Melbourne. Since its inception, Dr. Sketchy’s has received coverage from the likes of The LA Times, The Washington Post, BBC Radio, NPR, The Village Voice, WNBC, Time Out London, and The New York Times.
