About

Luciano Berio's "Folk Songs" was initially composed in 1964 and arranged for a large orchestra in 1973. Shanghai Symphony Hall will see it performed in its entirety with Silvia Vajente as Soprano and Lorenzo Antonio Iosco conducting the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. It will be followed by Igor Stravinsky's "L'Histoire du soldat" (The Soldier's Tale) narrated by Worren Mok, a libretto relating the parable of a soldier who trades his fiddle to the devil in return for unlimited wealth.
