About

Named after their prestigious school Kings College in Cambridge, The King's Singers are a British a cappella vocal ensemble originally founded in 1968 when recently graduated choral scholars from King's College performed at the Southbank Centre in central London. Their vocal make-up that night was two countertenors, a tenor, two baritones and a bass. Although the members are different, the group has never wavered from that formula since its formation. They have won two Grammys, an Emmy, and a place in Gramophone magazine’s inaugural Hall of Fame, amongst numerous other awards. This July will see them perform at the Shanghai Oriental Art Centre.
