Ode to the Master: Hans Van Manen Portfolio
Editor's Description
A showcase of some of the finest bits of choreography from the renowned Dutch master choreographer, performed by the Dutch National Ballet. The performance will include four pieces; "5 Tangos," perhaps the most widely performed of all his creations, introducing the Netherlands to Astor Piazzolla's tango nuevo in 1977; "Kleines Requiem," his 1996 dance accompaniment to the third and fourth parts of Górecki's Kleines Requiem für eine Polka; "Adagio Hammerklavier," a classic piece of 20th century dance and a ballet for three couples, inspired by Beethoven's piano sonata; "Sarcasmen," van Manen's most popular "ballet for two."
