Rush Hour Concert is a series of one-hour classical music concerts hosted by a group of new generation musicians from the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, happening monthly during rush hour from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Each concert differs in content, where the SSO musicians will perform selected pieces that are short and light – appreciating classical music during the rush hour without being burdened by serious time and effort is the idea. The December concert falls on the same day of Beethoven’s birthday, and thus the musicians will play some of his signature works, along with pieces composed by Beethoven’s contemporaries like Haydn, Mozart and Schubert.
