Art Lab, The Museum of Contemporary Art's (MoCA) new top-floor performance venue (the restaurant was relocated to the back of the museum) celebrates is first public viewing with German band, Mediengruppe Telekommander. Hip-hop, broken beats and retro-synths in a redefined "white cube" space are a promising angle for the MoCA, which has struggled financially since its opening in 2005. Free entrance, cash bar. Doors open at 9pm.

Art Lab @ MoCA Shanghai presents: Mediengruppe Telekommander all the way from Germany. Mediengruppe Telekommander's new album takes up seamlessly where their debut, "Die ganze Kraft einer Kultur", left off: hip-hop, broken beats, retro-synths, e-guitars, fast bass runs and chants, mixed together in a unique melange the way these two Telekommanders have specialized in.



Art Lab is redefining the traditional "white cube" definition of how art is appreciated in a public space, providing a social place for artists, designers, creators and the public to enjoy...
