Pangea Day Shanghai
Shanghai's satellite for international day of film, Pangea Day, will synch up with venues in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Rio from 6pm-6am, May 10-11 to watch a selection of films chosen from 2500 submissions worldwide. The name "Pangea" derives from ancient Greek roots and refers to the supercontinent - that is, the single continent believed to have existed before the 7 continents broke off into their current formation. Is it possible to foster international community/tolerance through the moving picture? Even if the lofty ambitions don't quite work out, 12 hours of movies is usually a good thing.
