In China's growing urban landscape, private space is shrinking, and spreading onto the sidewalk. Eastlink Gallery explores the conditions of contemporary space in ChinaDorm, featuring Chinese artists Lin Jing, Yu Fan, Yao Zi, Zhang Qing, and Zhang Zhaogong. Opening reception is September 6, at 6pm.
As both exhibition and performance, Eastlink restructures itself as a dormitory and aims to discover the consequences of the closing and opening of space in contemporary Chinese society, and your own public role magnified, or possibly just foreshadowed, in a mirror of this society.
