Have you wanted a apartment you could brag about to your friends back home? Well here you go.
The flat is simply amazing (so are the flatmates). Rarely can you find such a well decorated and well equipped house for the price point we're at. It is built right along the riverfront of Suzhou Creek in the rapidly developing Northern Jing'An Area with the metro is SUPER close, as are a lot of nightlife hubs, and shopping. SPECIAL NOTE: We believe that a recipe for a good house, is a good mixture of friends. As such, our house usually generates A LOT of interest when a space becomes available, so we allow people to PLACE BIDS on the room. Come and see it, and if you like it, tell us what you are willing to pay for it. In the end, we will offer the room to the person we feel would be the best fit for the house, regardless of price (although it will be a factor, especially if everyone we meet ends up being fabulous.
Also, if you just read SmartShanghai's article "[How to]: Find a Cheap (and Fairly Priced) Apartment in Shanghai", you'll see that THIS APARTMENT IS ONE OF THOSE HIDDEN GEMS! Our average neighborhood square meter cost is 111 RMB/square meter, but ours comes out to 85 RMB/square meter. This makes the house 23% cheaper than market value!
The apartment is 163 sqM, features 3 balconies, modern furnishing, as well as fantastic mood lighting suitable for a raging house party, an elegant dinner soiree, or if you just want to play video games, or catch some sun and read a good book on the south facing riverfront balcony. It is a larger house, so it's suitable for hosting guests, for movie nights, date nights, birthdays, you name it, the space is flexible, and well conducive to a myriad of social occasions and moods. The compound itself is gorgeous, with large green spaces, and private Riverwalk promenade perfect for exercising, or sitting on a bench near the water with a bottle of wine and a hot date. It really is beautiful.
The flat is not just fully equipped, but goes above and beyond what you might find in many flats around the city. In addition to everything standard, here are a few additional amenenities the house has:
o High Def Wall Mounted Flat Screen TV, perfect for Epic Space Opera Movies
o Ultra High Speed Internet with a special connection that is no longer available from internet providers (our VPNS work great).
o Air Filtration Systems
o Water filtration/purification systems in kitchen
o Legit Oven, Blender, Juicer, Food Processor, VITAMIX, Rice Cooker, etc.
o Well stocked kitchen (except wine glasses, we always break those)
o Central Airconditioning

o Compound has TWO very nice Swimming Pools, Tennis Courts, Basketball, etc.
The apartment location is fantastic. 2-minute walking distance to Line 3 / 4. The flat is also 1 - 2 STOPs away from Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, and 13 granting you access to all parts of the city, including Pudong. DIRECTLY downstairs of the flat, you have a Starbucks, Lawson, All Days, Pharmacy, Supermarket, Ichido Bakery. Within walking distance, you can get to:
o Easy Shop Carrefour

You'll live with 2 boys and a girl! An American (Director at SmartShanghai) and Russian (Programming student) couple (GAY!), and our gal is a Scottish Pressure Scientist. We have a fairly balanced life. We are fully capable of throwing the best house parties in Shanghai, but also enjoy movie nights with friends. Although, we are all very responsible, and never allow play to interfere with our professional careers, so we keep party time on the weekends. We also have an ayi (a real auntie mind you), whom we've had for 6 years. She's not the BEST, but she's sweet and will make you dumplings if you are sad or sick. We pretty much do anything from Symphonies to underground warehouse parties, to ballet performances, to music festivals, to reading books, and at home, we are very chill. If you are new to Shanghai, we welcome you! We also like to cook, bake!
Also, we have a DOG, named Lucy Jane Sanders (Lucy for short). She is a democratic socialist with a fondness with a certain US senator of the same family name. She's 1 year old, but well trained, very sweet, and generally pretty quiet. Although she does bark when someone's at the door, but it's usually a "woof who's there woof" and that's it. She's nice, you'll like her. Golden Labrador! :
It's fairly difficult to say who we'd get on with, since we are all fairly laid back. We want someone who is responsible in their work, is able to make wise choices, but someone who is also open-minded. We also don't mind if you are new to Shanghai, we'd be happy to show you around, but we are looking for long-term renters.
SmartShanghai Housing is Shanghai's most
popular rental listings platform. We remove any listings that don't meet our strict listings
