Center Manager

Job Purpose: This role is to take over the Center Manager position in our well-established English language training centre. This position is responsible for the day to day running of Meiying Foreign Language Center in order to provide an excellent service and further develop relationships with local business and educational communities.

Key Responsibilities: Center Management

  • Overview, policy, planning and implementation of language and training programmes to be developed by Meiying Foreign Language Center
  • Close liaison with and support of Director of Studies to ensure delivery of high-quality service
  • General management and supervision of the centre and responsibility for ensuring the well-being and success, health and safety of all students, staff and visitors
  • Following up with parents about the quality of the teaching and learning experience and implementing policies to ensure the success of the centre academic programs

Development:

  • Local promotion and marketing activities in keeping with the general mission of Meiying Foreign Language Center
  • Maintaining and developing the office, bulletin board and classroom space

Administration:

  • Organization of staff reports
  • Analyzing feedback from parents
  • Organizing teaching team for various centre events
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills and independently develop skills as applicable
  • Any other Ad hoc duties that are felt reasonable to fulfil the Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

A successful Center Manager will have the following skills and qualities: 

Skills & Qualities:

  • Native level Chinese, Intermediate or Advanced English
  • Experience living in a different culture
  • Counselling & interpersonal skills (ability to understand people’s needs)
  • Excellent communication skills & time management skills
  • Financial management – keeping budgets, managing expenses
  • Managing people
  • Ability to create and maintain business networks/relationships
  • Office administration experience (IT literate, particularly MS Excel)
  • Analytical thinking
  • Attention to details

Experience:

  • Year-round centre management experience, preferably within the English teaching sector (If the candidate does not have management experience, he or she must have a strong desire to learn the industry and must be positive, well-rounded and have a strong desire to get results)
  • Hospitality/sports activity management experience (customer care)
  • Pastoral/welfare experience
  • Team working experience
  • Financial management/cash handling experience

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree qualified or equivalent 
  • Desirable: Work-related qualifications desirable 
Meiying Foreign Language Center
