The company is now working on a major new initiative, in partnership with a publicly quoted Canadian investment group. This is the launch of our omnichannel which is focused on marketing niche cosmetic brands largely sourced from Canada and the US.

As a result we’re looking for a dynamic Account Manager for the Shanghai office with a particular focus on supplier recruitment and retention. Our ideal candidate will have both business development and account management experience combined with an entrepreneurial mind set. The role will involve liaising with businesses in Canada and the US so some travel will be necessary. Our preference is to find an individual who has the potential to build an account management team as the business expands.


Objectives for this Role

  • Working closely with the CEO to attract high quality suppliers to the omnichannel
  • Deliver high levels of supplier retention and satisfaction
  • Delivery of optimal process for client on-boarding and retention
  • Maximise sales and profitability through data, market and client analysis
  • Provide strong insight and learnings from suppliers and competitors as key inputs into other departments
  • Identify short-term and long-term scheduling, budget, and resource needs

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Working closely CEO, identify hit list of clients and develop strategies for recruitment and sign up
  • Respond with immediacy to client enquiries and follow up as appropriate
  • Following sign up, manage the on-boarding process including sourcing any samples, information and materials required by other departments
  • Propose improvements to both on-boarding and day to day client management on a regular basis
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure that photography and other site inputs are delivered to company standards
  • Provide monthly reports on supplier recruitment, client satisfaction levels and other KPIs
  • Report on any issues or changes that have the potential to impact the business and recommend any actions required as a result
  • Participate regular team meetings to review progress, resolve challenges, and present possible solutions
  • Represent the company the company at external events including conferences, tradeshows and stakeholder events providing necessary marketing inputs and the delivery of post-event reports and analysis

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years experience as an Account Manager focusing on supplier recruitment
  • Ideally, in depth experience in the e-commerce platform, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals sectors
  • Can demonstrate a track record of successful account management including enhanced sales and profitability delivery
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and inter-personal skills
  • Experience of working with a western company or start up
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques
  • Masters degree, Fluency in English/Mandarin – many of the clients will be based in Canada/US at least initially.
  • Ability to travel internationally
