The Hong Mei branch of Blue Frog serves up what you would expect from a Blue Frog venue: a wide selection of food and drinks suitable for all the family. With a separate dining section and play area for the kids, this venue is perfect for the little ones. Also noteworthy is their buy one get one free burger promotion every Monday from 4pm onwards.

This German bierstube remains a popular eatery on Hong Mei Entertainment Street. With Hofbrau and Weihenstephaner available of draught, fans of German beer will be able to wet their whiskers, and they also have a varied German menu featuring all your favorite classics (Kasslerlachs mit Sauerkraut and Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat).

Situated on Gubei's Hongmei Pedestrian Street Mexicolindo does a variety of Tex-Mex standards like burritos, enchiladas, tacos and fajitas. There was a time when this place was about your only option in town for a decent Mexi-style meal. But with some recent additions to the scene, this place falls far behind in terms of quality.

If Bukhara across the street proves to rich for your blood, humble Delhi Darbar is a more wallet friendly option. Not only that, it's probably one of the better dining options on the largely mediocre Hongmei Entertainment street. Expect the standard range of Indian fare: Masalas, pakoras, vindaloos, aloo gobi, various flat breads and the like.

The general agreement is that Simply Thai is just okay. Slightly pricey, the food tastes average, looks average, and is sized average. Service is slow and not particularly helpful. Admittedly, the good experiences at Simply Thai outnumber the bad, so it is worth a shot-- the result ultimately depends on the kind of day they're having.

Bastiaan is a small, owner-run bakery that started off specializing in dark German breads, and expanded into pastries, cakes, and, now, a cafe that does simple Western all-day dining. Very family-friendly.

This popular tapas restaurant is the third Las Tapas in the city. With two floors - plus additional outdoor seating - the restaurant brings some Spanish flavor to Hong Mei. For those wanting something a bit more substantial, there are also pasta and paella dishes.

Shanghai brewery is pub and sports bar that brews its own beers with names like North Star IPA, Hongmei Hefeweizen, and Peoples's Pilsner. Also on offer, a menu featuring pizzas, burgers, salads, sandwiches and German fare.
