Tairyo's all-you-can-eat-and-drink for 160rmb teppanyaki is a long-time favorite among expats and those fresh off the boat. The menu features a fair selection of Japanese fare cooked hibachi style as well as various cuts of sushi and sashimi. In recent years, however, the quality of what's on offer has taken a severe dip in quality.

Tairyo is probably the king of Shanghai's all-you-can-eats. 150rmb per person at this branch.

Gintei is one of the better options among Shanghai's myriad all-you-can-eat-and-drink teppanyaki feed bags. Expect most of the standards: stir-fried salmon fillets, butter-fried steak, sushi, sashimi and the like. The price is 199rmb per person. An a la carte menu is available as well.

All you can eat, 218rmb per person for walk-ins, 198rmb per person with a reservation.

Brazilian-style all-you-can-eat BBQ, plus chintzy buffet. The meats are real salty and the food quality leaves something to be desired, but for those times when you want to stuff your face with protein and wash it down with french fries, potato salad, and caipirinhas at bargain prices, Brasil does the job.

Gokohai is a shabu shabu spot, the Japanese hot pot. It's mostly popular for its all-you-can-eat deal, but ordering dish by dish to dip into the simmering broth is also an option. Cheap draft Asahi, too.

Latina is a mid-range South American-style churrascaria, or barbecue restaurant. You pay a flat rate for access to a salad bar and buffet and servers bearing large skewers of various grilled meats roam about to carve off portions for you.
