The week end is about to begin. Had a so so lunch on the Bund at an expensive restaurant under the recommendation of a friend that is a victim of that part of society that tells you that expensive is better.
Time to get a pre dinner drink I think I might try the terrace of the Maison Pourcel if it doesn't rain. I hear they have a nice view plus the food and drinks are risk free. I know that because a good buddy of mine is in charge.
It's about time to hit a real happy hour with tipsy people. The Spot is not chic but it has an atmosphere.
I just realized I forgot to eat dinner again. Well no time left I must go and meet some friend on Xingfu Lu. Anar has a cool Brazilian guy playing tonight. End up at Dada for cheap drinks and decent DJ.
I got to go home tomorrow is a big one. But before that I pick up a bowl of the best handmade Xinjiang noodles in Shanghai. It's the hole in the wall on Huashan Lu right opposite the hospital.
Saturday morning. Time for a triple espresso and must get out of here for a quick casting at my client’s office.
Ok done, now it's time to hit Mandarine City Pool in Gubei for burger and beer at the pool bar in the water. If you don't get there early impossible to get a sunbed. Afternoon getting a tan reading China Daily, oh look there is an article about the Prince of Denmark opening my photo exhibit. Talking about my photo exhibit, I must get home and get ready for the opening party on the east Bund at the Northern Lighthouse.
I must look sharp so get out the suit plus after the party I have to run to friend's bachelor party.
Arrive at the opening party grab a drink and explain the meaning of my work to couple of friends that I haven't seen in a while plus a bunch of VIPs that I had never met before.
I'm late for the bachelor party in the basement of my friends place on one of Shanghai's most expensive streets, Hunan road. I can't say anymore about this so fast forward to a couple hours later where some of us are up for continuing the good vibe. How about that bikini party at Judy's that seems appropriate to bring the bachelor boys. Sun's coming up time to get back.
Great Sunday morning. I think I will head back to Maison Pourcel and actually try the food. I discover a new kind of tapas brunch on the terrace. Perfect just the opposite of those hotel brunch deals.
Get back home and write a bunch of thank you for coming emails to the people that showed up at the exhibit.
Late afternoon chilling out at home taking care of my place.
Hot pot dinner at the place at the beginning of Wulumuqi Lu close to Fuxing. Then off to Anar for the jam session with John for a last drink and a bit of catching up with some friends.
Ok I think that does it for the week end. Fall asleep to a DVD.
