Beware the hat: a five-year veteran of the Shanghai photography scene, Charlie Xia specializes in architecture, portraiture, and event pictures. Famous in Shanghai for his unique photographic style and compositions, Charlie had his first solo show at the beginning of 2007.


Shanghainese photographer Coca Dai graduated from the art college of the Shanghai University and is now SmartShanghai's man for live music and concert photography when he's not just busy writing his Shanghai Art Scene blog.


Arriving in Shanghai in August 2005, Mathias Guillin, is a French photographer who covers events, cooperate, architecture, graphics, fashion, and travel photography. A little bit of everything ....


A former Unilever Marketing Manager Don Yap quit the rat race in 2005 to pursue his passion in photography. When he's not chasing kids around in his family photography studio, he's covering events for local and international publications such as El Mundo, Newsweek Select, and SmartShanghai.


New this year to the photography scene in Shanghai is Japanese photographer Kosoke Sato is already well known for his stunning and artistic events photography. A prolific photographer for SmSh all throughout 2008, Kosoke captures everything from live music, to fashion events, to club parties.


After 15 years of video production in Tokyo and creating/owning the club Gmartini's, Grant-oh! Buchwald (aka Red Beard) decided to find a new life and inspiration in China in 2006. Spending most days adding a creative touch to corporate photography, Grant-oh! loves to spend his evenings covering events and parties around Shanghai.
