Barbarossa is one of the finer, if not the finest, upscale nightlife venue in Shanghai for its beautiful location in People's Park and its three floors of lush interiors. As one of Shanghai's most popular bars, Zapata's holds court over the entire Hengshan Lu nightlife scene from their fantastic outdoor terrace and multiple venue complex. A staple of the live music scene in Shanghai, Live Bar hosts punk, metal, and rock shows featuring local and domestic Chinese touring bands. Although the venue is pretty far from the city center (around 35rmb in cab fare), Live Bar is consistent is hosting newer, younger Chinese bands on the weekends. Cover is usually in the 30rmb range and the beer is cheap at 10rmb per bottle.
