Sunday Brunch at Sasha's is definitely worth it if:
1. You want some good old fashioned American breakfast foods, desserts, pasta, salads, etc.;
2. Don't care about not being waited on;
3. Have the whole afternoon to sit and chill.
...not to say it's not worth it if none of the 3 apply to you.
The place is a bit overrated. The food is definitely worth the price (180/head) if you have the money or are willing to spend 11AM to 5PM hanging out (which you totally can) and eat your weight in food.
We arrived around 12:30 and the place was PACKED. There was no space inside and almost sat outside since it was nice. However, after deciding to eat inside, we had trouble getting a spot. The problem is that no one cares if you're there...the waitstaff was not helpful in helping us find a seat, although the hostess, who was very nice, eventually came over and told us to grab an opening before others found out. It's basically like this: you get there, if you can get the hostess' attention for more that 2 seconds, awesome. If not, grab the first available seating you can--be aggressive...pretend you're trying to get on the metro during rush-hour.
The space is quite cramped. We were seated in a corner and had trouble getting in and out of the space, which doesn't help when it's a buffet-style brunch.
Silverware was hard to come-by until the crowd died down at around 1:30pm.
The food selection was more limited than I expected although I did happily eat what was set out. The couscous was great as were their other cold salads. My boyfriend at about 4 plates of their eggs, baked beans, bacon and toast.
I noticed several Chinese couples/groups of friends who were there for the long haul. They would eat, hang out, digest, eat more, read some magazines (which are provided on a magazine rack in front of which they placed a table. AWESOME), hang out, eat...had I the time, I would have done the same to get my money's worth.
All in all, it's definitely worth trying, probably a monthly stop for those of us who are on a fixed budget, but kind of pretentious.
