This used to be one of the better places to eat in town. It still has a great brunch on the weekends but, their regular menu has suffered a great deal over the years. They removed the best sandwich on the menu (Santa Fe Turkey Avocado) and replaced it with sub-par fare. The 'Fresh Vegetable Wrap with Tofu' is more like a spring roll of air with a few vegetables for texture. Most of the hot sandwiches are devoid of any kind of flavor. The grilled vegetarian, which used to be good, is now so greasy that you feel ill when you finish eating it. Finally, the signature smoothies now come watered down. I'm not sure what happened. Are they trying to save money by skimping on the ingredients and portions? It's really too bad because I used to eat here often and now it has been relegated to a place I eat when I'm in a hurry...

there used to be a time when Element F only had their Nanjing Portman outlet. Note the nostalgic approach here = ever since they decided to cash in, service and overall experience went down the drain... I don't get the place = who ever designed it needs to read a book on human behaviour. Sit in the large (uncomfortable) booths, and you have no real eye contact with the staff. Sit on the far end, same deal. They have this large unused corner with a register for orders, but only the girl who clears your table goes there, she don't take orders. Where portman had some mood to it, this place feels colder than my fridge. None of the staff give a fuck about you, not even the floor manager who just dumped one of our orders on the table, not even asking who ordered it. He was too busy looking cool I guess. Food is dissapointing, my lamb wrap was half cold and I was told that is how it was meant to be. My wife's fruit yogurth has three peices of watermelon in it, and it took two different waiters to come ask why we requested more fruit. Maybe it is the novelty that wore off, because 5 years ago they were the only ones with this food concept. Back then they took care of you, now they take care of themselves and look more concerned about opening more places or placing more fridges all over town.

BAD experience. My first time and didnt enjoy.nice lay out.big place.but service isnt good.some of the waiters are nice, polite.but many of them were just loudly chatting near the bar area.dont understand some places, why they have smoking and non smoking areas in one same room, what is the point??people who dont smoke wouldnt smell the smoke or something as they are in the same room???! and if allow people to smoke in the smoking area, why even do they have time for that.from 3pm,u can smoke.whos kidding me? the food came,my friends and i stared at each other, hey guess what, they might wanted us to eat with hands!no forks no knives,no one even noticed till we waited for a while to let them know coz we thought someones gonna bring us.(normally this should be served right after we ordered) by the way, dont really understand how the price for one big(and not that big) glass of smoothie come out?--50rmb.like gasp. me,def not going bak there.so are my friends who have been told.

By the way,why the places when they provide the price example like Prices: Golden Ginger Smoothie 18rmb(sml) 30rmb(lge); Asian Sets 38rmb-52rmb always ONLY choose cheapest price what if people dont like the cheapest ones.why dont provide from the cheapest up to the most expensive one so let people know the range.

Good food, nice terrace, mediocre service, strange, boastful, self-important, presumptuous western clientele who smokes ceaselessly while eating allegedly healthy food. And why do those people have to put their smelly and dirty feet onto the seats while at the same time constantly complaining about how unhygienic Chinese people are?

Be careful when you get your morning coffee. The waitress did not put the lid on properly and hot chocolate spilled all over my hand when I picked up the cup. My hand was burned and was in pain the whole day. Double check the lid on your hot drink, their waitresses need re-training.

must try! I just had the pleasure to try their new dinner menu last night.. the weather was fantastic and breezy so we sat on top of the deck with a gorgeous view of the city!!! i highly recommend the grilled pork tendorloin w/ apple ginger broth mmmm and my friend had the sesame crusted tuna loin w/ soba noodles. the service was friendly and quick as usual and they also have a promotion right now.. a bottle of wine with 2 dinner orders. definitely will go back to try the other items on their new menu!
