Acceptably-priced Italian joint in the French Concession with minimal frills and pretty good pizza. Colabo is located in a renovated house pushed back at the end of a tree-studded lane.

Went here for lunch on a cold and rainy day. Located on the second floor of a restored historic house, the dining rooms are warm and cozy, and the bright and uncluttered aesthetic is very Japanese. They have a couple of lunch specials- we got the soup/salad, pasta/pizza, and drink for 50rmb. The salad was wonderful- a generous portion of radicchio, endive, arugula, etc. drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The mains we got (penne arrabiata and pizza margherita) were also very yummy- certainly not the best in Shanghai, but really solid: nice thin crust on the pizza, fresh ingredients, a well-balanced sauce on the penne (though it could have brought the heat a bit more). The drink selection for the set was pretty large and varied (coffee, juices, wine, etc). Overall a very chill, relaxed lunch for a crazy awesome price.
