    There was an article that I read on Smart Shanghai a few weeks ago entitled "Be a better diner". I agree with about 90% of what was written except for the part that reads.....

    Paulaner used to offer complimentary rye bread with leberwurst and pork gristle spread. When I asked for this I got that "free loader" look from the waiters. Staff quickly dumped a few slices of rock hard farm bread onto the table with ice butter...

    Yes it is expensive to eat out in Shanghai, I have no problem paying for meals that are high in standard. What I loathe is when standards are lowered while the price increases.

    May Paulaners be damned for eternity for denying the good citizens their leberwurst and pork gristle spread.
