Gourmet Burger Cafe offers inventive gourmet hamburgers in a modern cafe environment. Over 30 different variations, such as the 'Crakajak' with premium beef, cracked black peppercorns and melted cheddar cheese or the 'L'Avorella' with prime beef, buffalo mozzarella, ripe avocado and sun dried tomatoes, Gourmet Cafe serves up a unique burger meal. They've also got a selection of summer salads and a list of fresh juices, milkshakes, and smoothies.

So, after reading all the reviews, I decided to check out Gourmet Cafe. Sure, they have a huge selection of burgers (including Chicken burgers, which I appreciate), but where are the classics??? I can't imagine all the funky cheeses going over well with the local Chinese. Everything was on the pricey side, but with all the choices, it warrants another trip in the future.

Don't get me wrong this place is not cheap but you get what you pay for...proper tasty burgers with good ingredients and great smoothies. Just a shame that you have to pay extra for sides.
Burger King BTW in Shanghai is rubbish. The one on Mao Ming Lu and Wu Jiang Lu doesn't chargrill them cooks them in a way that makes it seem like they've been steamed!

Hey, I don`t understand why people keep saying this is a best place?
I went to Gourmet Burger Cafe to see how small it is. You can`t even call it a cuisine. It`s just a fast food restaurant, like burger king. We cost like about 400 hundred for 4 people for food which is so fast-looking.
Maybe suitable for a friends gathering only if you don`t care about getting overcharged.
Definitely it is not a right place for a date or a business dinner.

I went along to Gourmet Café, based purely on the reviews, and have to say I was not disappointed, the food was well presented and actually tasted fresh, not stale like some fast food joints, represented value for money, and very friendly service personnel. The restaurant must improve both the ventilation within the restaurant and kitchen hood extraction, as I came out smelling greasy like I had been slowly deep fried in a fish and chip shop!

An amazing burger. You can build your own...so anything you'd like they cater to. I ordered off menu...and was very impressed. However, It always sucks paying 60 - 70 RMB for a burger, especially with no fries or onion rings...but when you're missing the good old snobby California burgers you're accustomed to...these will do the trick.
