Built in the 1930s as the clubhouse for the race track that stood where People's Square is now, the Shanghai Museum of Art has recently expanded it's exhibition roster to include foreign artists. The Museum is also the hub for the Shanghai's Biennale. Kathleen's 5 Rooftop Restaurant sits atop the building.
Comprising some 170 of the Catalan master's prints, this exhibition features works spanning almost five decades of Joan Miró's (1893-1983) prolific career. Widely credited as an early forefather of Surrealism, Miró took an experimental approach to his art that would see him become an ambassador of movements such as Lyrical Abstraction and automatic drawing.
The Shanghai show is colorful, absorbing and diverse - definitely a must-see this Spring time.
