Editor's Description

Enoteca has set itself as one of the most affordable joints to be downing the drink of gods. Most of the wines are from Argentina and Chile but not limited to these 2 wine regions. It has an equipped kitchen serving up set lunches and simple brunch affairs on Sundays.

This place has been a delight since it opened. Whether you are on for an evening on your own (the place has wifi – so go twitter away) or you are on a date (nice selection of wines at extremely nice prices) or you are with friends – the place doesn’t disappoint. I have been going to this place since it opened – so about 2 years now – and it has never disappointed:
Lets analyse this a bit:
Wine: Big selection of wines at extremely reasonable prices. They constantly introduce new wines. Some have been a big hit, some have miserably flopped – but you can’t have it all can you?
Food: They change the food on a regular basis (I think every 6 months) so it keeps the interest levels high – again, some have been a great hit, some not, but they are open to the criticisms – so feel free to discuss your culinary views with the management and you might just see your ideas show up on the next menu
Atmosphere: Now this place is second to almost nothing for atmosphere. The place is always buzzing – loads of people (ok its not a massive place, so its easy to look busy, but that’s a positive no?) – enjoying themselves.

I like the place, am a regular, and do recommend the place to newbies and visitors.
Have a nice one.

What is happening overhere ? bloody small food servings and a staff that is eating it's Chinese take away dishes at the bar at 6 pm, spitting bones on the floor and after finishing their meal and drinking a glass of water empty their throats into a trash can in front of their customers. it's getting worse and worse.....

I was definitely expecting more from this place. The decor was nice, but no wow-factor there. However I did enjoy sitting on the plush red cushions the seats had to offer. I had lunch with a friend there. We chose to order A La Carte since it was our first time and we wanted to get a good idea of the food, try a bunch of different things. Duo of Tartares was nice, but other than that, the food was very so-so. The Carpaccio was bland, flavorless, and the beef itself tasted like it had been watered down. The Mushroom Risotto Cakes were overpowered with pepper and herbs. And the only thing we could taste in the Shunshine Panini was the sundried tomatoes. Everything was a nice effort though. Each dish was presented well and executed well on a cooking technique point (Mushroom Risotto Cakes were hot and creamy on the inside and beautifully golden and crisp on the outside), but they missed on flavor. Drinks were good though-- Blood Orange Pelligrini and my Iced Mocha were yummy! Dessert was also a disappointment though. The Cinnamon Creme Brulee hardly had any traces of Cinnamon and it tasted like and had the consistency of the custard part of a Chinese egg tart. The bruleed candy shell didn't seem like it had been freshly done either. It was like it had been bruleed that morning and then reheated just before it was served. I think the Lunch Set Menu is the way to go. I think that's the only way you'll get your money's worth, but stay away from any sandwiches with sundried tomatoes.
