The Blue Frog pub/restaurant chain has been around in Shanghai for over ten years. The menu is basically unfussy American-style food -- burgers, pastas, salads, sandwiches. To drink is a reasonable selection of beers (both bottled and tap). Its daily four-hour happy hour and it's two-for-one burger Mondays have made it a popular haunt among expats.

Been there for buy 1 get 1 free burger. 1 sichuan sauce burger and 1 blue cheese burger, sweet fried potatoes and 2 hoegarden beers. We paid just one buger, 10 yuan additional for sweet potatoes instead of normal fries and one beer, a good deal.
The price of the burger is from 118 to 88 more or less. I have to be honest there are better burgers, but still blue frogs' burgers aren't bad at all. They gave us the beers in the bottle, without glasses, but we got the glasses asking two or three times.
The service was good, considering that the place was packed i really cannot complain.
In my opinion is a bit pricy but for such kind of deal is perfect.
Overpriced, but exactly what I was looking for

As I finished my second full week in Shanghai, I decided I was in need of some good ol' American food, so I headed to Blue Frog.

I'm a vegetarian, so I had tried to look at the menu online beforehand to see if I could eat anything. My foreign phone and it's 2G network couldn't really handle that, so I ventured ahead blindly, fully prepared to eat nothing but a plate of french fries. When I arrived I was delighted to find a veggie burger on the menu, so I scurried right inside.

It was a Friday night, and the place was pretty much packed, so I was seated at the corner of the bar. This allowed me to eavesdrop on my bar-mate recounting his tales of winning thousands playing poker in Macau, so I was thoroughly entertained as I waited to order.

I ordered a Strawberry mojito, which was not great, as it was dominated by the flavor of artificial strawberry syrup. I was pretty unhappy with my choice (particularly given how much I paid), until a refill magically appeared in front of me. As an inexperienced baby in the world of bars and happy hours, it hadn't crossed my mind that such things were possible. It tasted equally like artificial flavoring, but at least the extra alcohol helped me forget about that.

I wasn't really into the hummus and cucumber mayo that came with the veggie burger, so I opted to pay the extra to get some avocado and brie (I wanted a fried egg too, but I just could not justify spending 15 yuan on an egg). I was so excited when my towering burger appeared, my mouth started watering. The veggie patty itself was pretty terrible, tasting like nothing and with a weird texture. Thankfully, as long as I ate it with the delicious cheese and grilled veggies that came on the burger, I couldn't really tell, and, again, I'm trying to be a vegetarian in China, so I won't complain too much.

By this point Macau-man was repeating his stories, and I still had an hour commute home, so I was ready to go, but It took awhile for me to flag down a waiter to pay. Admittedly, the place was still super crowded, I was in a corner, and assertiveness has never been a skill of mine.

Overall, I think the food and drinks were overpriced, but I went out in hopes of finding a reminder of home, and I can handle paying the expat-tax that comes along with that. I'm sure I'll return someday.
