it's a charming venue - the location is such that almost all street noise cannot be heard. interior is striking, if not a little contrived; drinks are ex-pat-priced (read: ~50rmb / beer).

took mama on the 4th day of her trip here. as much as it seems a little ridiculous that i should pay 128 kuai for rice, meat and sauce(I have clearly been away from the US for a long time) it was worth it. I had the massassaman curry(or something to that effect), mama had some shrimp thing. mine was fantastic and she said hers was great too. drinks were ok, but i had just had the best gin and tonic at indalo the night before (i think they used tanq 10, but i can't proove it)so it was a hard show to follow. at about 8:30 they must have had some sort of function going on so they "kicked us out" to the upstairs balcony. it was great. the view is really pretty up there, and we had some teas and the "chocolate taster" desert. i picked it mainly because they didn't tell me what the 3 selections were, and i was curious. they were fine, but not amazing. i wished i had picked the chocolate cake or the caramel cheese cake instead. overall, fantastic night.

One of the BEST PLACE in Shanghai - Cosy inside lounge for winter - Great Garden and house for Summer - perfect cocktails - Happy hour from 5 to 8pm everyday... And if you go upstairs, you will find a pricey but yet excellent thai restaurant with intimacy atsmosphere... FACE is always a good choice for quiet and friendly times

I was advised to try this place by a friend.. It is set in a park by Ruijin Hotel.. it has a large garden terrace which provides a peaceful change to this loud bustling city. The ambiance and music was nice.. not too overbearing. Being a sucker for cocktails I tried a few a few off their list. They were quite expensive 60-70 if I recall correctly and for that price were very unremarkable! However for a nice bottle of wine this place is definately worth a try!

I had a terrible experience here with the bartender. I ordered a Lychee Martini and the glass was a little over half full. When I asked him to fill it to the top he began to argue with me and claim that this was how he served all his Martini's (which is untrue since everyone else had a reasonable serving). For RMB per Martini, you've got to expect better service than this.

I like face a lot. It is kind of in a garden. It is nice you can sit outside of the bar. It has a nice pool table inside also. But it is normally a bit too busy there. Weel, I haven't been there for a while. Missed it a little bit.

The food is absoluetly great,the bar down there is kinda ok,but still,no place to dance and to my point of view,too much staff trying hard to clean and manage the place but that are using precious client space ...Is that rude ?The music,even if a playlist on an Ipod,was good and got us to dance and have a lot of fun.The manager was so sweet and welcoming,we add a great time and partied all night in front of a crowd that was not used to that kind of wildness in that place i guess !HA!HA!HA! Would recommend it for a chill night and if you are spontaneous like we were,well,they'll manage with great generosity !

After one hour's walking finally my friends and I decided to go to FACE which in the rui jin hotel. It's a restaurant , actually maybe a lounge. We sitted outside close to the grass and it was so beautiful . With the candle on the table, the wind was warm, some special lights on the tree....Chilling....I heard, the red wine there is good . So we ordered. Imaging.. candle,red wine and sitting ourside. Feel like I was not in Shanghai. Maybe it's a small town in Europe ....It was so quiet. Though many people were sitting around but most of us just enjoyed the drinks , the candle, the weather and everything beautiful. At that moment, people didn't need to talk just enjoyed the moment they were having. So relax and chilling....
