Arch is a delightful "design" cafe that's past its expiration date. It still has the lovely ground floor in a standout, Flatiron-esque building on Huaihai Lu, a stack full of design magazines, and an overly chatty and clever menu, but the general consensus is that the kitchen's quality has dramatically decreased. At your own risk.

I returned to Arch 1 year after my last visit and was very disappointed. I used to love the food there but something must have changed over the last couple of months...First of all, the place was empty on a Sunday at 1 pm which was a surprise as we would have to wait to get a table. Next, the staff there no longer speaks english making communication painful (wrong order, mistake on the check)....Lastly, the food was extremely disappointing. My burger was over cooked, the bacon was very fatty and the bun was a couple of days old. My wife's dish was always very oily and nothing compared to what we used to get there. Too bad because the place is cosy and I love the displayed photography

Overpriced and clearly disappointing!
We went for a birthday with a group of friends, we booked a table in advance and were surprised that they had no reservations. All of us were so disappointed by the food. Dishes came out very slowly... Wednesday is supposed to be non smoking,but we had smokers just next to us! Definitely never come back to this place!
