Situated just a block behind Jing'an temple, this two floor caffe does a brisk business in all things Indonesian. Expect standards like rendang, satay, coconut rice and the like. They're also one of the few places in town to offer Indonesia's own Bintang Beer.

I like indonesian food. This place isn't bad for a quick easy meal. location is a bit out of the way in Jing an temple area.
The place looks more and more run down everytime we go.
Recently had the Gado Gado and i guess they may have changed it a bit.. came out looking liek a pile of brown chunky sauce.. heavy - not enough ingredients. We had a mix of other dishes - the BBQ chicken was not great either.
The staff are pretty local, not really attentive and really its quite off putting when your server is wearing sneakers or uggs and not really paying attention to your order. It's annoying. Service seems to be going down hill.
So this place is fine if you like indonesian food, want something hearty, huge portion sizes, no service - so do not take your clients there if you want to impress them.
The other customers can be loud too.

The staff are really friendly and it makes a big difference. The manager is super knowledgeable on the food. Sometimes when busy - the service gets a bit slow.. so great for lingering dates or with friends where you just wanna sit and chat.
The building itself is like an office block so they have managed to create a bit of atmosphere but nothing that screams ambience and indonesia.
Food is really good and authentic. Been here several times with indonesian friends and they are fans. Its a csaual place with hearty home style cookin that they do try and dress up a bit.
Never disappointed.

Let's just say that as an indonesian, Im happy we have this restaurant in Shanghai.
It's a great place for me whenever I miss indo food.
The location is great, and the food and the price are great too.
Im not gonna say that it's the 100% authentic but at least it's the most authentic Indonesian food I can find in Shanghai.
I found out that the owner and the manager are all Indonesians, so maybe it's easier for them to bring some of the ingredients (that we cannot find here in sHanghai) from Indonesia.
Personally, I love their shrimp tofu, the fried rice, morning glory with shrimp paste, their lamb curry (even tho their beef curry is more popular there).
Keep up the good work guys!
