So, the Barbie Cafe IS extremely cute... and pink. It was definitely the novelty factor and my love of all things pink and fluffy that brought a group of us there (3 guys and 3 girls).
Us girls obviously gushed over the Barbie factor, and attention was definitely paid to details! For example, the napkins were not plain ole Kleenexes, they actually had different Barbie logos on them! It broke my heart to dirty them.
Drinks were good, very yummy. But slightly on the pricey side, I had a Barbie-tini, the only thing on the menu that was pink (you would think there would be more, right?).. and it was delicious, albeit slightly lacking in alcohol.
Decor was lovely. So was the staff... guy who served us was named Andy, and he's an absolute sweetheart! However, in the PR releases, these "bartenders"/waiters were supposed to be our Kens... I don't know if I consider him my Ken, but he is certainly a sweetheart, very helpful. Oh, they speak English too in case ure wondering.
BUT THE FOOD... WTF IS THE FOOD. When our appetizers of chicken wings arrived, the boys immediately remarked at how they were "anorexic chickens". Isnt this supposed to be an "All-day American diner"? I don't know about you, but in MY american diners in MY american town... they dont have emaciated chickens.
And then my chicken main course came.... so, so disappointing. DRY CHICKEN? That saccharine sweet sauce?!!?!?!?!?!? The broccoli was good though... I finished all my vegetables :)
The linguine was passable/edible. Nothing to write home about. Panini was mmmkay, but small portions. Salad was supposedly the "signature dish", my friend who had it said it was pretty good.
Prices... well, supposedly "Affordable" right? But yknow, there's too much good food in this city for me to waste ANY calories at all on this food. As I said, I came here for the novelty factor, and now that that's done and dusted, don't expect a repeat customer.
