Saizeriya is a Japanese approximation of a family-style Italian restaurant, with thousands of outlets in Japan. They do simple Italo stuff at rock-bottom prices. It's the cheapest "Western" food in China -- 10rmb pastas, 6rmb glasses of wine -- and you get what you pay for in its localized flavors and ingredients of dubious provenance, but going by price alone, it can't be beat.

I absolutely adore this chain. Unbeatable prices and the food aint bad either!
True, its not the perfect italian pizza (few places in Shanghai can give you that), but it's darn good and for the price you can't help but loving this place!
Some of the best pastas in Shanghai too.
If there is one thing I hate in Shanghai it is the general trend of overpriced softdrinks, but not in this place! 6rmb for botomless glass of softdrinks/water/juice/icetea/coffee.
And the best thing about Saizeriya is that if you dont know what to order you can afford to order pretty much everything you want.
Bringing a date there? Maybe she/he will be insulted you took them to a cheap place, well whatever, dump the snobb! The food IS good so they shouldnt care about the price tag. The only thing you need to worry about is extreme garlic breath..but I suppose if you both eat it then it cancels out.
