My first visit (lunch Sunday) was most enjoyable so I brought along a friend. We were checking out the resturant to bring a larger group of friends. There was supposedly a free shake if one arrived between certain hours and we showed the advertisment before we ordered. Only one of us got a free shake. We both ordered hamburgers. When they arrived, my friend remarked how small they were and showed me the advertrisment using his cellphone. I said, "they were much bigger last week". On further observation some other people were getting significantly larger hamburgers. We called tha waitress who started talking about "miniburgers". I pointed out that the bill did not suggest that we ordered miniburgers. Next we were told that it was impossible for the hamburgers to have been small, the cook said so. Overall, excellent potential spoiled by lack of attention to the important details. A real pity.
Let's see, a friend of mine wanted to try this place out so I tagged along. Ended up coming in at noon just beating the lunch rush.
We ordered the lunch combo of a burger, side of fries or salad, and a drink. I got the Mexican, it wasn't anything special, had a kick in it but seriously? Nothing special. It was an unremarkable experience and basically was the equivalent of its price 75RMB for a burger, fries and drink. Maybe.. not, glorified BurgerKing anyone?
I also... noticed that I was the only girl of 20+ in the whole restaurant minus the 2 awkward servers.
And I hate walking out of a restaurant reeking, especially of smoky beef patties and french fries.
So, Bistro Burger, you get a 3.
