Balthazar is a French brasserie from serial restaurateur Eduardo Vargas. A 1920's lane house sets the stage for a long French-style bar with working fireplace on the first floor, and dining on the two floors above. Al fresco is possible either on the roof top or in the mini garden out front, but book ahead in fine weather. The menu features simple, comforting French and international favorites at reasonable prices, and an affordable wine list. Update: Balthazar is now Casa 13.
