Great spot to go grab a beer and watch rugby games with friends!

The games schedule is always up to date and you can be sure you will not miss a game. Staff is nice and always ready to change channels to display the one you wanna watch at your convenience. It's always crowded so arrive early if you want a good table.

Beer selection is diversified and even if prices are a little more expensive than what you can find in other sports bars it's definitely worth it.

The Camel is a great pubistro in the heart of the French with great food, cold beers and they do a mean frozen margarita girls!

When the weather is nice the front french windows open out, its the perfect place to sit, drink, gossip and people watch. The staff and service is quick and they are always willing to try at making up new drinks at the bar!

The Sunday Roast is delicious and the servings are big - my hangover cure - and comes with a beer at 100rmb! The Parma is also a must!

    Big thumbs up!

Wanted to see a game that i knew would not be shown anywhere in the tv or in the bars. Camel found a stream and showed the game for me, not one but many of the same kind even though me and my friends where the only people left in the bar in the middle of the night. I think that is the best service that one can ask for. I am happily recommending Camel for any sports fanatic. It's the best in town.

Not a bad oasis for the sports-minded expat, especially if you\'re Australian or Kiwi. They\'ve got all the big sports covered - Rugby League, Union, AFL, Cricket... You can even throw in some baseball, NFL, and Ice Hockey.

The staff are quite attentive, but as with any place they can lose you a bit when its busy. Theres always events on including a weekly pool competition, trivia night (quite challenging) and even a chicken wing eating competition.

It\'s quite a blokey place so I wouldn\'t recommend it for a first date. But the crowd is friendly, the food portions very generous (try the big breakfast) and reasonably priced, and it\'s easily the go to place when you just want a feed, a beer, and some sport.

I dont like going to Camel but I end up being dragged there by my mates all the time. My main gripe is that it looks like a Wetherspoons and its lit up like a bloody operating theatre. They could turn the lights way down...so it feels like a pub.

Other than the total and complete lack of atmosphere it is a decent place to watch the rugby and football. They have loads of screens and have most of the sport on at all times. All in all I wouldnt mind this place if they sorted out the lighting. Im not converted from O\'Malleys and Blarney though.
    Sooo close to greatness!!...

I love having a sports bar in the French Concession and the Camel has amazing potential. TV\'s everywhere (even inside the urinal), pool tables and lots of space. Going there for drinks at night is great. The vibe is good and I haven\'t tried the food so can\'t comment there. If you don\'t want to read any further, go for the atmosphere but don\'t go if you\'re expecting to enjoy a particular sporting event (c\'mon, you guys are a sports bar!!)

I have to agree with reviewer \'cdlblaze\'. I must have left just before he came because I stayed up all night to watch the NCAA games Sunday morning and rocked up to Camel around 5:45am, 20 minutes before tip-off. The doors were still locked but there was one waitstaff and two cleaners. I was expecting throngs of other fans to rush in at any point and overwhelm this dynamic trio but allow me to continue...

We picked a spot in front of their fireplace, giddy to be the first ones in and ready for hours of sporting entertainment. I urged the waiter to fire up the TV and within 2 minutes it was obvious he had no idea how to work the entertainment system. I pride myself on being tech savvy but I\'ll admit, the Camel has an AWESOME setup in terms of running various feeds to their many screens. But TRAIN YOUR STAFF CAMEL!! The waiter had to call what I can only presume is the owner/manager and after 20 minutes, the only screen that was showing the game was their computer. I tried to help but we couldn\'t get it to show on any of the screens in the entire bar. The game started and I was surprised no one else had shown up yet even, though maybe they know better than I did to head somewhere else instead. 5 minutes into the game and we unfortunately had to pack up and head for Bamboo.

After staying up all night in anticipation of this event, I was pissed. I took some video as well in case the good folks at Camel would like to contest but hope they\'ll spend their time instead educating their staff and unveil the potential of their venue. I\'ll go to Camel again for sure but the next time there\'s a big game, I doubt you\'ll find \'cdlblaze\' and myself at Camel.

This place has potential. It is one of only a few good sports bars in the area, but they need to get there act together. Went there the first time for the Pacquiao fight and while they have plenty of big screens the sound system is down right atrocious. They have what looks to be 30 to 40 speakers hanging all about the place, but whom ever set this thing up had not one clue what they were doing. All the sound seemed to muted and coming from the background. There was no "Front Stage" so you struggled to hear anything the announcers were saying. The food and drinks were overall good, and the place is spacious enough for the big event, but if you have a sports bar you need the picture and the sound to make the package. Strike two was going there for the Final Four on Sunday AM and they could not get the games on there satelite system. So it was off to that other "Big"(Bamboo)Sports bar you all heard of..
