Having tried out all the other restaurants in the Shanghai centre, this was the last one to tick off. So recently I went there for a business lunch and found pretty much everything is great. The service, the prices, the staff and the food are all good.
All the staff speak English and have that great service manner that you find at Element Fresh, such a pleasure to experience when so many other Italian restaurants are so arrogant & rude - im looking at you Bella Napoli!
The prices are all eminently reasonable and beat most other decent Italian restaurants for price and value. Indeed, the set lunch for 65 RMB is a bargain, but not as much as the Regular 98RMB set lunch which you get a starter, a massive pizza or pasta, soft drink and coffee. Its a bargain!
The salads and the pizzas are all nice, and the ingredients are definitely above most other Italian restaurants in Shanghai.
Moreover, all the food has a certain professional, fresh & hygienically prepared feel about it such as Element Fresh has - I love it!
Oh and they also have a super terrace that you can sit out and eat on when its sunny like now. Overall this place is great for business / casual lunch, or even a great date. Love it!

Being from the home of Pizza Marzano, (or Pizza Express as it's branded in the UK), I love this place because it tastes the same, it looks the same, BUT...the service? Much better here would you believe!
I went for a meal with a colleague here post work after planning to head to El Fresh, but my colleague wanted something a bit more nom nom nom... and after having a friend tell me the best service she ever received in Shanghai was in this branch of Pizza Marzano, we headed in.
We were seated quickly but a chirpy waiter and given the menu. The thing I like about Pizza Marzano is that you can either choose from thin crust, or super thin crust. I had a super thing crust with quarters of different toppings and it was delicious - hot, fresh and tasty. They are the perfect size to eat one on your own plus a starter to share if you're averagely hungry.
The restaurant is modern but comfortable and i really think perfect for a date, with mates or business dinner - when we walked in it was mostly businessy work types actually, but hey this is the Shanghai Centre.
We shared the famous dough balls to start - that garlic butter should be illegal it's so good and we kept the rest of the dips to plonk our crusts in.
Wine is good and reasonably priced, around 50 kuai a glass, and they don't scrimp on the size of the pour.
Best of all was the service. Not one but two people coming back to check everything was ok, staff actually anticipating needs before you having to call them, being available not hiding out the back or standing at the side Weiboing/QQing on their phone. The staff were knowledgeable about the products and offered suggestions of their favourites.
When we were ready for the bill a waitress actually caught us in the reflection of the glass looking to catch someone's eye and acted on it - that is definitely not standard in Shanghai!
Over all it was 140 per person for a starter, pizza and glass of wine - not bad value at all in Shanghai. I'll definitely be back, it seems finally someone can run a restaurant the way we take for granted back home.

Have to first say that the service here has been absolutely impeccable the last two times (gone half a dozen times by now). In fact the service is the reason I felt compelled to write this review - I was surprised myself. I actually asked them if management had changed since the service was perfectly on-tee; fast, instinctual service which wasn't in-your-face or hovering either.
Staff asked courteous, relevant questions at the right time and place, without me having to wave them over. Check came only when I called for it and wasn't plunked in front of my face; manager also chatted briefly about our meal and let us know we could ask for things differently if anything about the meal wasn't to our liking.
Food-wise, the selection of appetizers, pizzas/pastas always hits the spot. I personally quite like the ambience, which is really done quite well considering the relatively low prices here. Overall it offers a modern-esque dining environment that still knows it's a pizza/pasta joint. And it does it well.
If you want great pizza selection for a reasonable price, I'd say you have to skip the dingy/sketchy alternatives and try out this joint. It's got a touch of class without being ridiculous or pretentious - just enough to make you appreciate it as a nicer place to sit down and grab some food.

Nice pizza, clean, and good atmosphere... It's our go-to place in the 'hood for casual group dining. The value for the meals are also great and you know you can always get the same standard of food.
