The hidden location is a quite new/coll spoot in the french consation.
The design of the resturant is clean/open design.
The service was fine at the time we visit.
The food was nothing what we expected. Perhapps the food is okay, but as we expected Malaysian food we was VERY disapointed. :(
I strongly recommend them to be more clear that the base (perhapps) is Malaysian, but with there own touch of...
So this resturnt is not as bad as this might sound, but for us it was as to our expectations of real Malaysian food, that we miss from time to time...
We will not go back.

Research the location carfully before you go, because it is not easy to find tucked away in the lanes of the jiashan Market area. We decided to go with family and after the long walk down a dark and dirty alleyway, we immediately liked the warm welcome at the door by an English speaking waiter. They showed us around the place commenting on the decor, which was very warm and inviting. The place was empty, but it was Monday and 20:00 so no surprise there. We selected the bar area upstairs for dining cecause there was such an interesting ambiance. The very nice and large outdoor terrace was deserted because of the heat that evening, but I would like to come back when it is not 35 C to check that out.
The menu was authentic Malaysian though a bit pricy. We ordered Samosas (very good) Spring rolls (OK, but strange aftertaste), Honey Fried chicken (delightful) and Chicken Satay (delightful) and a bottle of Red Shiraz (fine (230 RMB))
The service was very helpful and took great care of us, and even the non-english speaking waitress proved helpful. Our children were very warmly received too.
The toilet was one of the best designed and cleanest I have seen in a long time, including reclycled paper hand towels. I appreciate the restaurants that clearly takes care of the small details and understand that a nice toilet is just as important as a nice dining room and decor. We will be back and recommend both the place, the food and the service.

Heard about Jiashan market all the time, so last monday my boyfriend and I decided to checked the area. We're really impressed about the concept and design of the area.
After walking around for 15mins, we decided to try cafe sambal.
As an Indonesian, I was pretty excited. The manager was really nice, he even showed us around.
We ordered 4 dishes. Malaysian fried rice, papaya salad, chicken curry (I forgot their exact name but it's apparently their specialty according to the waiter), and prawn sambal(chilli),
We also ordered cocktails too.
The margharita didnt taste quite right, but I didnt expect much of it since I was there for for the food anyway..!
The papaya salad came first, It was a lil too sour and the portion was tiny. I know that Malaysian food has always similar with thai, singaporean and Indonesian food, so I know this was not authentic papaya salad, but usually I dont care if the taste is good.
But anyway, this is malaysian resto, so im not expecting them making thai dish correctly.
Then came the fried rice,I think the rice was a bit hard but the taste was pretty good and they're pretty generous with the prawn too.
The prawn sambal was really nice. It's the only think that we felt was right. The chicken curry came last. The sauce was okay but the chicken meat was not uncooked properly, so we asked the waiter to ask the kitchen staff to cook it again for us or at least do something about it. They agreed, So we're continuing finishing our dishes, after we almost done, the chicken curry came again and still.. it's not cooked.
Anyway, I wanted to like this resto. I like the simplicity of the decor too and the people there, but the food was sooo ordinary for a price like that.
