Ganesha is a simple, 20-seat Indian restaurant perched on the second floor of a mall just opposite the Jiangsu Lu metro station. They get busy at lunch times thanks to their cheap, cheap set menus and a lack of other non-Chinese lunch options in this area: two curries, a side salad and unlimited naam bread for 25rmb. 30rmb for 3 curries. Delivery available.

....at the end, sure, it's not a fancy place, but they have the best 'Garlic Nan' in town, for sure !!!
Also the 'Palak Paneer' and the 'Dal' are very good.
And for Lunch , it's the best and cheapest place in town for Indian food !
25 rmb - one dish with salad and unlimited Nan and Rice, 28 rmb - two dishes and for I think it was 35 rmb you have two dishes of your choice,
one peace of chicken and one Mango Lassi !!!
It's really good !!!
I like this place for the mere fact that its cosy and economical enough to let you enjoy your meal.
Main chef is from nepal and he speaks hindi.
they serve good food at reasonable price, i prefer taking a thali for 35 rmb with one veg curry, one non veg curry, salad and unlimited rice and naan. Their naan is so special that we just go there to enjoy that with seekh kebabs n tikka. I love this combination. Also we ask for extra mint chutney as thats the delicacy to add on the snacks.
i guess you should avoid spinach and veg pakoras, i didnt like them much.

A value for money option for cheapest Indian food in Shanghai. Just 20 meters from Jiangsu Lu metro station, Sunyoung Center, Second floor. Its a small and simple place, and can seat around 20 people. You can try their sets for lunch with unlimited nan and rice. An affordable option if you eat out daily. Probably the cheapest option when you compare to all other Indian places.
I am an Indian, and like their food as it is close to home cooked food, no frills or fancy stuff, medium spices. Try the tandoori chicken and palak panner. Their nans are one of the best. Even in Mumbai I couldn't find such soft nans. Note that, no South Indian dishes are there on menu.

Nans are really good and freshly made. Curries are just ok, but it's still a great value for money, because for 28 RMB, in other Indian restaurants, you only get the nans !

Tried this place about a month ago. Would say it's definitely good food and great value for money. The spices are on the milder side and great for those not looking for a very heavy meal. Good stuff!
