SwissCham is a platform encouraging networking and information sharing between Swiss companies in China, and Chinese companies interested in Switzerland. As of 2018, they count about 600 members and member corporations. They collaborate with other Swiss Chambers in Hong Kong and in Zurich, providing various services, such as visa support and training seminars. They also regularly hold networking events, such as the annual Gala, where members can bring a business partner. They've got two types of membership; members and associates. Members are Swiss companies or Swiss nationals in China, while associates are non-Swiss companies or individuals and Swiss companies based in Switzerland. Although the SwissChinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) was founded in 1980 by a former ambassador of Switzerland to China, SwissCham first opened its China offices in Beijing in 1996, and its Shanghai branch in 1997.
