Sushi Raku is yet another concept in that cluster of Wagas-owned, Craig Willis-run restaurants on Anfu Lu. The focus here is fresh sushi prepared with traditional sensibilities. Expect a selection of typical seafood like tuna, salmon, squid and the like with some more exotic flavors, as well, like parrotfish.
Shanghai has always been one of my favourite cities to find good Japanese, there are so many choices out there, which makes it a bit hard to choose a place sometimes. Sushi Raku looked like a good place to try out, in hindsight its not a place I will be quickly return to, it fell a little low in the scale of things when it came to value for money. It wasn't too bad, for example the service was pretty good, The quality and choices of Sashimi was quite good, you can taste the difference between their tuna and those at all-you-can-eat joints. However, one BIG thing that brought the scale down dramatically was that the O-Toro was still frozen when it was served.
