Fudede is the latest venture to set up shot in a space that's seemed like a black hole for all restaurants prior. The menu is a straightforward Shanghainese cuisine, with all of the staples you'd expect--red-braised pork, crab xiao long bao, etc.--in generous portions. The decor is, likewise, par for the course: brightly lit, traditional Chinese screens. Servers tend to push the pricey items on the menu, so don't get strong-armed into something you don't want to eat.
