Dined at Yin couple times last month. Wide selection of delicious shanghainese cuisine,especially ample vegetable dishes (a veggie-friendly and health-conscious restaurant). Great dining environment with decor covered by dark wood and cordial service personnel. Serving speed needs to improve though. Might be difficult to attract passer-by and to be found by first-time diners - it's located at the 2nd floor of the building at the opposite side of an Arabic restaurant. Enjoy.

Having been a fan of owner Takashis previous restaurants, Le garcon chinoise and the old Yin, I was very happy to see Yin reopen in this new location on Hengshan Lu.
The design feels much like before, with an old glory days shanghai dining room serving chinese food and with a tiny sushi bar for 6 people.
We opted for the sushi bar where we feasted on whatever they kept bringing out. All Great!
Takashi's food has always been great, but he also manages to create a charm and atmosphere at his places in a way that only he can. simple but beautiful decor and music that transports you back in time for a mellow and very pleasant experience.
Finally since people are always complaining about prices on these threads, i should ad that Yin serves outstanding value.
