Mao Livehouse in December

Looking ahead to Mao Livehouse's December schedule, after a busy November, for the last month of the year, we're only highlighting two shows:
December 5: Second Hand Rose "Ten Years In A Day" Tour
Second Hand Rose are one of China's most original and radest rock bands, combining elements of glam, classic rock, and that most nebulous genre, "Chinese traditional". Famous for the cross-dressing predilections of their singer, this band rarely makes it down to Shanghai, but when they do, it's a real good-time event. They're back for their "Ten Years In a Day" tour, which I'm guessing is celebrating their ten-year anniversary. Think they've been around longer though...
December 17: The M and S.T.D. present Vicarious Bliss + Mr. Flash
The second collaboration between promotional groups The M and S.T.D. (they brought your Boyz Noiizizee), this month they're hosting an Ed Bangers Showcase with the return of Vicarious Bliss to Shanghai, along with French person, Mr. Flash. Should be a big one if you like bass that goes bump in the night.
Mao on the move: As reported by the Jake Newby in Time Out and on his blog -- this man, he is like some sort of journalist barracuda wolverine -- Mao Livehouse is on the move from their current location, looking to settle in to an even bigger space in April 2011.
Here's the official line from their PR: "You probably have already heard that Mao Livehouse Shanghai will be moving next year. That is slated to happen in April, at the latest, to a slightly larger space in Luwan District. Mao will only be closed about a week as we move the sound and lighting equipment. We will be sending additional details soon, and look forward to showing you the new place."
