Face Bar Closing

"All this and more we leave behind, some memories are now ghosts, their stories ended, some will survive to evolve into new fascinating futures."

That's heavy. A nightlife institution in Shanghai, Face on Ruijin Lu has announced via ruminating email from FnB manager Alberto Nonis that they'll shutter their doors for the last time on December 14, 2008. Situated in the Rujin Hotel, Face has been around for ten years, which predates the Maoming Lu years, said email reminds us. Nonis alludes to the ongoing construction in the area and the decimation of the neighborhood atmosphere as the reason for the closing of Face.

Plans are underway for a relocation: “As soon as negotiations permit, we hope to be able to discuss with you our new venue in which we will recreate the best of “Face.”

Good luck to them. Chin chin.
